Okay guys.. I'm going to start posting again in this tribe. Gunna rally up some support and see what's up this year on the playa for our "class". We had some awesome experiences last year and made some amazing connections. Let's keep that spirit alive and get back rollin!

Re: 2004 Virgins attending in 2005?
Tue, June 28, 2005 - 7:18 AMWhat's this "class" of which you speak?
Anyway, I'll be back in 2005 and 2004 was my first year. I'm bringing an art project, too: The Bike With 2 Brains (jasondoesitall.com/bikewith2brains is the website). Even saying it gives me twinges of anxiety and it's still 2 months away.

Re: 2004 Virgins attending in 2005?
Tue, June 28, 2005 - 11:01 AMHeheeh... that was pretty funny. Think of that though... I hadn't been there before and I was trying to pick a spot for us to meet. What a lame-ass.
I'll be very specific this time Having now been, I have a real sense of what it's like.
And what I was speaking of, was anyone that was a virgin in 2004 when I say "class". Silly distinction I guess, but important none the less. -

Re: 2004 Virgins attending in 2005?
Tue, June 28, 2005 - 12:02 PMI'll be coming back for my 2nd BM. It will probably be my last for a while since I'm going back to school for a second degree and work is paying for it so I won't be able to get away with skipping a week of school for BM and coming from the east coast it's a bit much for just a weekend, who knows though, maybe schedules will change and I plan to spend the extra time and money on getting to some of the other regionals besides PDF and Transformus. -
-
Re: 2004 Virgins attending in 2005?
Sat, July 23, 2005 - 4:26 PMI'm only able to go these days because I quit work and returned to school for my degree. School starts a week earlier, so I get into my classes, miss a few, and return dazed and full of good intentions. East coast is another matter. You'd have to fly in to Reno with as much as possible and rendezvous with an RV reservation or something James Bond style.

Tue, June 28, 2005 - 2:05 PM
I think Class of 2004 is a cool name. pretty much along same lines on how year mates are referred to in many Ivy league schools.
hey Binky, glad to see some fellow east coast burners posting here. Will you be going to Transformus this year? I am looking to drag a couple of my friends who are virgins to the whole burner-world. must be fun! -
-
Re: 2004 Virgins attending in 2005?
Tue, June 28, 2005 - 5:22 PMYes I will definatley be at transformus. I know Vic and a some of the crew from PDF and wanted to go last year but I was working seven days a week. I went down in April for a work weekend, spent most the weekend driving but still had a blast. Transformus will be a great way to introduce your friends to the burner world. But internet sales end the 17th of July and snail mail sales on the 10th, so get your friends moving. -

Re: 2004 Virgins attending in 2005?
Tue, June 28, 2005 - 5:30 PM
well we already have our tickets, so thats no biggie.
I wonder how transformus works .... do we have to be a part of a camp there? If yes then the only camp that comes to my mind is the sweaty virgins camp. I need to get in touch with Maya or Ryan for that.

Re: 2004 Virgins attending in 2005?
Tue, July 5, 2005 - 12:31 AMSweet!
Right now I'm debating the giftie I want to make for 2004 Virgins. Should I do what I did last time, where I made 4-5 designs of the cherry logo and then shrinky dink them? That seemed pretty damn cool and I still occasionally see them around the LA burner scene at parties and stuff.
Or I was thinking of making some more fancy ones.. more like actual jewelery...
Thoughts? -

Re: 2004 Virgins attending in 2005?
Tue, July 5, 2005 - 8:29 AMyou should do what you feel you have time and energy for..
i remember last year you were doing these up until the last minute..just sayin...
plus, the element of suprise is always good for me....suprise us crafty one!

Re: 2004 Virgins attending in 2005?

Wed, July 6, 2005 - 9:40 AMI'm going..I bought my airplane ticket. Just need to find a cheap BM ticket.. -

Re: 2004 Virgins attending in 2005?
Wed, July 6, 2005 - 1:51 PMI had the time of my life last year and can't wait to go back for more!
I'm trying to figure out what to do for gifts. Anything I think of just doesn't seem like enough. I'm thinking of making basic logo pendants (with the BM logo burned into wood) since those always go over well.
What is everyone else bringing?
(Best of luck finding a cheap ticket, Jenn and Pink Potato!) -
-
Re: 2004 Virgins attending in 2005?

Re: 2004 Virgins attending in 2005?
Fri, July 15, 2005 - 3:45 PMI'm going- bought my ticket 12 minutes after they went on sale. No worries... I've calmed down a bit since then. I'm bringing a new virgin to the playa- perhaps as many as three- depends on who gets their act together between now and then.
I'd love to get together with other '04 Virgins. I met a handful at last year's Black Rock Boutique's Virgin Ceremony- lots of people from the PNW were there. Last month I went to Cali and met a bunch of people in the bay area that will be makin' their way to the playa for the first time this year. Aw... to be a virgin again...
So when and where do we suggest having a gathering, signifying a reunion of the Class of '04? This'd be great! -

Re: 2004 Virgins attending in 2005?
Sun, July 17, 2005 - 10:17 PMOkay.. so as soon as the map is posted I'll pick the meeting spot. There are some things I want to coordinate and that will have an impact.
Damn near time to Burn... -

Re: 2004 Virgins attending in 2005?
Tue, August 2, 2005 - 9:41 AMHi, I was a virgin last year [maybe a reconstruction is in order... scalpel...] and am attending this year, too. I would love to meet up with everyone whose respective cherries popped last year. So ya, even though I am late for the popping-en-mass [last year], it would be awesome to meet you folks this year!! ya? And ya, the name is Eric [ hello! ].
Yay, it's so soon!!!!

Re: 2004 Virgins attending in 2005?
Wed, August 3, 2005 - 12:23 PMI'll be going back to the playa again this year. I have made many good friends who I've kept in contact with. I can't wait to bond and party with them again as well as meeting new people. It's all about the positive energy....

Re: 2004 Virgins attending in 2005?
Thu, August 4, 2005 - 6:10 PMI'll be back for my second year and would love to meet up with everyone! Just tell me where and when and I will endevour to turn up on time (instead of an hour late last year and miss you all!)
I won't be doing to the theme camp option this year - a group of us have decided to try and keep things on the down low this year.
It's funny, it's my second year, however in many ways I feel like a virgin. Every year is unique, however this year will be fundementally different in it's planning and approach for me. eg:
* Last year I was single, this year I am going with my bf (who I actually met on the playa last year, however there was no romantic involvement until we were firmly back in reality camp - 6mths later)
* Last year - member of a big service-based theme camp. This year - part of a small group of close friends/healers
* Last year - looked in awe as over 600 fire performers danced under the man before s/he burned. This year, will be one of those performers.
* Last year - got a ride from LA with another 2 burners. This year will be riding from Colorado, there and back.
So, I am RATHER excited to be return home with you all and look forward to seeing what lessons the Playa has for me this year.

Mon, August 8, 2005 - 10:09 AMwow trock on woman! can't wait to see you there.. I am also feeling like a virgin..more-so this year..its funny when you kind-of know what to expect
(that ANYTHING is possible) its WAY more confronting! maybe being a virgin should actiuually last 2 years.. since the second time everything looks bigger than the first time!

Re: 2004 Virgins attending in 2005?
Fri, August 19, 2005 - 3:52 PMOne more time to clarify...
EVERYONE should piggy back the 2005 Virgin parties that are being held at Dragi's "Pink Flamingo Lounge". Check the 2005 Virgins tribe for more details, but that's what we're doing. -

Re: 2004 Virgins attending in 2005?
Sat, August 20, 2005 - 11:05 PMLooks like this member of the Class of 2004 will be going back home. I didn't think I'd be able to go this year, but last week some things fell into place and now the wheels are in motion to make it happen. A week and a half to get ready - man, I'm going nuts! Fortunately, friends are taking a lot of my stuff with them. I'm flying to Reno Wednesday (8/31) and will find my way (somehow) to the Playa. Be seein' ya!
